Highlighting Our Women: PAM ALEXANDER

Pam Alexander, a veteran volunteer in the Topeka community, is one of The Women’s Fund’s early supporters and organizers. She and several others were excited about the idea of gathering women together for a cause and then using the power of collective giving accessible to everyone to make a difference in the lives of others.

“One person can give an amount of money to a charitable organization and that is good, but when numerous people give an amount of money to that same charitable organization, together and collectively, the impact is greater,” said Pam.

Pam and the other founders recognized the importance of women exercising leadership and determining what areas of need would be addressed and what grants would be made. Also, the legacy of philanthropy, of loving other humans, is so precious that it must be passed down from generation to generation. Pam along with the other founders believed this.

“Philanthropy is a hallmark of a strong community, and the needs today are great. People matter. Positive change can be a reality. Good things can occur by pulling us together, giving together and making a difference,” said Pam. “That’s The Women’s Fund!”
